The Okay Project

I know, I know, you guys have gotten use to my humours and very cunning blogs illustrated with crayon. That’s my fault, but I’m going to trust you people haven’t forgotten how to listen to heavier things, and talk to you guys about something a little more important called “The Okay Project.”  The Okay Project is a new and upcoming ministry some lovely friends of mine have started for people who need someone to talk to. I’ve always said it’s a heck of a lot easier to tell a secret to someone you don’t know rather than someone you have to see Monday morning, and this group makes it easy to do just that. This is how it works, you send a E-mail to the group at theokayproject@gmail.com, and once your email is received, you will be directed to an individual member of The Okay Project that you can talk to. Clean and simple. This is what they wrote on their Facebook page about the group “After spending a lot of time on http://www.sixbillonsecrets.com (a site where broken people can anonymously post their secrets), we realized that these people need someone to talk to, instead of just posting on a wall where no one can reply. These people are struggling with abuse (both mental and physical), self-injury, rape, depression, death, and just plain loneliness. If you need to vent, share a secret, confide in someone, etc., we are here to listen. Whether you have problems with identity, self harm, depression, school work, family, eating disorders, or anything else, we are here for you.” Cool? I think so. I’m really proud of my friends for wanting to spend their free time helping others, not to many teenagers can say they do the same. If you are one Facebook, please go to The Okay Project page and “Like” them for more information! Thank you guys so much for reading! Love you all and don’t forget to subscribe!

Zombie Frog Part 2: Final Resting Place

If you haven’t read my previous post about The Zombie Frog please go read that first, or just skip it and be confused, I don’t  judge.  Anyway, as you may or may not know, we have been on the search for zombie frog for over a week now…..And I like to tell you we found him! Good news? I wouldn’t say that exactly.  Saturday morning, my family was cleaning out the car for the their road trip Monday, that’s when we saw him stretched out on the driveway. I had hoped I would never find Zombie Frog, or at least if I did, he would look a little like the picture I drew on the left, peaceful. Of course, in my family, story tale endings are just to sweet and unrealistic.  On the morning of May 21st we found little Zombie Frog, and because a picture says a thousand words and I’m out of things to say, here is a picture of what Zombie Frog looked like that fateful morning…. What happened to his arms? I don’t know…

Zombie Frog?

The other day, My two younger brothers brought home a frog from the park, found an old fish tank to put him in, and adopted him into our family. They would sit outside and watch the new family member hop around the tank for hours. And then a few short days later, the tragic accident happened. The newly adopted frog had jumped on a piece broken glass, cut himself, and bled out. I found the whole thing really gross. Then Mason had an awful idea, he picked up the dead frog, and chased my sister around the house with it! After we got Mason to calm down, we told him it would be best in he buried the frog outside, he agreed and went outside to bury the frog. Mason had a better idea, he decided to do an exploratory autopsy, with a butter knife. Yes, you heard me, a BUTTER knife. I was watching him through the window when I realized what he was doing, and ran outside with a small shovel. I restrained myself from screaming at him and just dug a deep hole to bury the remains. After he dropped the frog into his resting place, we said a few kind words, put some dirt on top, and laid a stone over the grave. I thought it was over. I was painfully wrong. The very next day the grave was empty. Mason wont fess up or tell us where the corpse lay, this is very unsettling because he could have put it ANYWHERE.

This post may have a part 2 if I find the frog, so stay tuned! Leave me comment if you have any idea where “Zombie Frog” could be and don’t forget to make Mason feel famous and subscribe! Thanks!

My Little Boys

I am the proud older sister of 2 very “active” little boys. By the word “active” I really mean “super crazy, danger loving, loud, make-their-older-sister-have-a-heart-attack” little boys. First of all I’d like to point out I love them with all my heart, and though they think I’m a little bossy, I’m really just trying to make sure they make it through life without to many battle wounds, or at least as few as possible. They say it takes a whole village to raise a child, if that is true, it will take an army to raise my little boys, and I am a solider. I sometimes feel like Candice from the hit animated series “Phineas and Ferb”….

I find myself singing this tune often… Nevertheless, I adore my little brothers very much.

as I write this post, I’m realizing this is going to be a very long blog. So instead, I’m going to write a mini-series called “My Little Boys” I will be keeping you all updated with short stories and pictures of the various adventures and other shenanigans those boys get me into. Hopefully you will get a good laugh or 2 from this brand spankin’ new set of blogs! So don’t forget to comment and subscribe!

Who Needs Grenades When You Have Limes

“I’m gonna get you with my GRENADE!” “NO YOU WON’T!” “Oh YES I will!” I couldn’t even hear myself think over the boys constant battle cries. Then I heard my sister scream “Mason! Stop throwing those limes!” And I thought to myself “Did she just say limes...?” Yes, she screamed limes. My five-year-old little brother Mason was using these cute little limes as grenades. I was rather impressed with his imagination and creativity. My brothers always find a way to make a weapon or a racecar out of ANYTHING and EVERYTHING they can get their hands on. They truly amaze me sometimes. So I want to know, what is the weirdest thing you have ever used/seen someone use as a pretend weapon? Let me know in the comment section below!

When The Cat’s Away… Petra Makes Cookies?

As much as I would love to be one of those super-mega-healthy-drinks-lots-of-water-and-exercise-at-ridiculous-hours kind of people, I’m not.  I know what you are thinking “Petra, if you love the idea of being healthy, why not just get off your butt and go for it?” Well America, my reasoning is simple – healthy people can’t eat these…..

Beautiful aren’t they? I LOVE no bake cookies. They are easy, call for very few ingredients, I can eat almost a whole batch in one determined sitting, and best of all they are scrumptious! I make them so often in fact, the recipe on Foodnetwork is one of my most viewed pages on my web browser… Addicted much? I know.  I figured it would be fun to share this amazing recipe with my readers! Check it out below! Please don’t forget to comment, like, look both ways before crossing the street and subscribe!

Got To Catch ‘Em All! Pokemon!

So the other day, my older brother was asked to make a speech in his communications class. He had 2 minutes to write a 1 to 2 minute speech about his favorite pet and why said pet was his favorite.  This is what he came up with….I would just like to say I love my brother. When we were little, Pokemon was his favorite show. He had the collectible cards, official Ash Ketchum cap, Ash’s blue vest, Pokemon action figures and much more. I even had a few Pokemon shenanigans myself……My childhood was cooler then yoursYeah, my childhood was that cool.

I hope you liked Nicholas’ speech! Let me know in the comments what show you loved best as a child! Like, comment, subscribe, eat fruit, catch ’em all.
